Position Overview

The Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR) seeks a full-time temporary Assistant Researcher to conduct program evaluation and data management for small and large-scale initiatives. CPPR specializes in research and evaluation, data science projects, and social innovation work that supports our mission to optimize the well-being of children, youth, and families. CPPR primarily pursues its mission by assisting partners, including state-level and community based organizations, in their work to secure funding, bring key stakeholders to the table, orchestrate large-scale data efforts, and conduct research, cost analysis, and evaluation. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about impacting social change for good. The person in this position will promote healthy, happy, thriving communities by conducting evaluations of new or existing programs. The successful applicant should have prior experience working with community stakeholders, collecting, managing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data, and sharing findings with partners outside of the academic community. The applicant should also be able to facilitate continuous quality improvement (CQI), actively troubleshoot problems that may arise, and quickly develop and implement solutions. Experience working on issues related to maternal and child health is helpful.

This position is contingent upon funding and expected to last through 5/31/2019. No additional funding is expected after that time.

Job Description

45% - Data Collection and Analysis
  • Work with programs to collect reporting and outcomes data
  • Assist with developing program surveys
  • Assist with observation and interviews for program participants, program staff and other stakeholders
  • Code qualitative data
  • Perform data entry, data cleaning, and data management in preparation for analysis
  • Assist with quantitative and qualitative data synthesis and analysis
  • Assist with report writing
  • Assist with preparing charts, tables, graphs, or written summaries of data output

45% - Program support and technical assistance
  • Prepare briefs for program staff
  • Draft presentations on research and data collection
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Assist with preparing training and professional development materials
  • Provide technical support around data collection
  • Manage and maintain accurate program records

10%- Other duties
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in education, psychology, social work, sociology, or related field.
  2. Experience collecting data in the field or in a research lab as demonstrated by previous work or education experience
  3. Effective communication and writing skills and English proficiency as evidenced by application materials
  4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently as demonstrated in application materials and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous experience with data entry or transcription of qualitative interviews/information as demonstrated in application materials.
  2. Previous experience in conducting interviews for research purposes.
  3. 1 year experience using statistical analysis software, such as SPSS, or SAS.
  4. Familiarity with using a variety of technologies (e.g., iPads, cell phones, transcription devices, online applications)
