Position Overview

The Pediatric Health Insight Team at the University of Kansas is seeking a full-time post-baccalaureate position working on a NIH funded study to develop an adaptive mobile health (mHealth) intervention for asthma management in adolescents. The position will include the opportunity to: (a) work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Kansas and the University of Florida, technologists, graduate students, and medical providers; (b) assist with development and implementation of a mHealth program; (c) help coordinate and conduct participant recruitment and screening; (d) gain hands-on experience conducting assessments of psychosocial and health outcomes related to pediatric asthma; (e) supervise undergraduate research assistants; and (f) gain experience writing and preparing research for conference presentations and publication. The position is currently designed as a one-year, paid position with the possibility of renewal. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree to be eligible for this position. Job Description

  1. 20% preparing and maintaining protocols and compliance documents
  2. 20% participant recruitment and data collection
  3. 15% coordinating schedules and activities
  4. 10% maintain project databases
  5. 10% assist with development of proposals, reports, and manuscripts
  6. 10% provide materials and support to institutional partners
  7. 10% provide materials and reports to support the project
  8. 5% other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, biology, sociology or social work
  2. Evidence of excellent written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials
  3. Experience following protocols and complying with institutional rules as demonstrated by volunteer or work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in social science research
  2. Experience maintaining databases and manipulating data
  3. Familiarity with human subjects research
  4. Experience collecting data from medical populations
  5. Familiarity with psychosocial interventions for adherence
