Position Overview

The KU Engineering Career Center (ECC) strives to provide all engineering students with high quality information, resources, and opportunities so they may confidently pursue their desired career goals. As a member of this Career Center team, the Career Networks Coordinator Sr. will collaborate on employer and alumni development/services as well as networking programs to increase career-related opportunities for KU School of Engineering students. This position is a half time, regular appointment (eligible for benefits) reporting to the Director of the Engineering Career Center. Some travel will be required, as well as the use of KU contracted vehicles. Also, occasional weekend/evening work will be required as the needs of this position demand.

Job Description

30% - Established Partner Services

- Develop and expand relationships with organizations and alumni already connecting with KU.
- Lead, organize and coordinate all details and logistics associated with on-campus interviewing next day interviews, company days, and information sessions (employer, graduate school, or other).
- Manage the suite of interview rooms and related equipment.
- Co-manage and maintain career services management software system.
- Design, collect, analyze and report data from participants.

30% - New Employer & Alumni Development

- Develop and coordinate strategic partnerships with new employers, alumni, key organizations, and other external entities; in collaboration with colleagues internally and across KU.
- Initiate, promote and cultivate these prospective relationships to expand engagement opportunities, professional networks and internships/employment for students.
- Create and share information through print, digital media, social media and other avenues with potential partners.
-Track activities, evaluate progress, and present information to stakeholders.

30% - Experiential Learning & Networking Programs

-Develop, organize and grow student experiential learning and networking programs with external partners, such as job shadowing and career road trips.
- Co-manage the School of Engineering mentoring programs and software platforms; establish and increase participation on multiple levels.
- Design, collect, analyze and report data from participants.

5% - School & Campus Collaboration

- Coordinate with other staff to maintain accuracy of employer and alumni contacts.
- Communicate career networks information.
- Partner with other staff on data-informed decisions and planning.
- Team up on ECC and school-wide events and initiatives.
- Collaborate within and across campus to utilize and manage technology based tools and software.

5% Other Relevant Duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in customer service, employer relations, alumni relations, business development, human resources, marketing, or similar role; OR relevant Master’s degree.
  3. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills as demonstrated by application materials.
  4. Prior job related experience establishing and building relationships.
  5. Experience and skill with project management, a high level of organization, detail, and strong follow through.
  6. Experience with learning and using new technologies and software.
  7. Must present valid drivers license upon completion of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with data and trend strategic analysis.
  2. Experience with even / program planning and logistics
  3. Track record of initiative, drive and self - directed responsibility to achieve goals.

Advertised Salary Range
