Higher Education Graduate Assistants

Student Affairs
Employee Class:

Position Overview

The University of Kansas has several paid graduate assistantship positions available for students enrolled in the Higher Education Administration Master's Degree Program. These graduate assistantships offer supervised practical experiences within various student services offices at KU and sites outside of KU.

Higher Education Graduate Assistantships may be nine, ten or twelve month appointments ranging from .50 FTE to .725 FTE time. Appointments in Student Housing vary due to a live-in arrangement. In addition, graduate assistants in KU units qualify for in-state tuition and fee rates. Admission to the Higher Education Master’s Degree Program does not guarantee an assistantship.

Second year students may request to transfer their assistantship to a different unit. Appointment for a second year is dependent upon successful performance of the first year assistantship assignment.
