Position Overview

Applications that will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration for part-time (regular or temporary)teaching positions as they are needed.

Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.

Job Description

60% Teaching Urban Planning core and elective courses.
40% Class preparation and meeting with students.

Lecturers are non-tenure-track members of the faculty whose primary role is instructional with no obligations to perform research or service.

Required Qualifications

For graduate courses: Professional master's degree in Urban Planning, or PhD/terminal degree in related field to include, Geography, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Law, Sociology, or Economics.

For undergraduate courses: Professional master's degree in Urban Planning, or Master's degree in related field to include, Geography, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Law, Sociology, or Economics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of teaching and/or relevant professional experience as evidenced in the application materials.
