Position Overview

This position is for an hourly research assistant to work on a research project on the genetics of language impairment. Hours are between 8-5 Monday-Friday up to 20 hours.

Job Description

Working with Human DNA samples in the lab, scoring of standardized and in-house language assessments, transcription, data entry, filing, photocopying.

Required Qualifications

  1. Prior experience working in lab settings as evidenced in application material
  2. Required 3.5 GPA or above
  3. Interest in genetics research as evidenced in application material
  4. During the semester of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hour in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session, or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments where enrollment is reduced down to one credit hour DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in biology research
  2. Data handling and computer skills
