Position Overview

The Sport Club Program Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Sport Clubs and serves as a liaison between the Sport Club Program Administration and the sport club athletes. The Program Manager will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the administration of the Sport Club Program, including: event management, club communication, office coverage, data collection, risk management, creating and implementing policies and procedures, marketing, and equipment inventory.

Job Description

  • Attend all mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintain regular office hours and serve as a customer service representative.
  • Coordinate Sport Club Officer Meetings, Leadership Workshops, and Executive Board.
  • Lead Monthly Club Officer Meetings.
  • Make PowerPoint presentations to assist in the training of sport clubs.
  • Implementation of Inventory Procedures.
  • Checking in and out sport club equipment.
  • Maintain databases (DoSportsEasyKU, Equipment, Practices, Events, Report Card, etc.).
  • Enforce policies and procedures.
  • Assist in all Sport Club Program initiatives, including club training sessions and meetings.
  • Provide home event coverage (games, seminars, tournament, etc.).
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Assist in the budgetary process.
  • Assist in the implementation of risk and first aid management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Must be an enrolled student at the University of Kansas Lawrence Campus at the minimum 6 hours.
  2. Current CPR/AED Certified or willing to become in 4 weeks of hiring (training provided).
  3. A basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access as evidenced in application materials.

  2. Experience in coordinating and supervising events.
  3. Ability to provide positive customer service and conflict resolution.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of advising/supervising organizations and/or individuals.
  5. Possess effective communication and organizational skills.
  6. Awareness of safety concerns and risk management.
  7. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  8. Possess a general knowledge of sports.
  9. Must be a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and does not need constant supervision.
  10. Genuine interest in serving students.
