Job Description

The Office of First-Year Experience offers a variety of programs to challenge and support new freshman and transfer students. The Student Assistant works with the Office Manager at the front desk and, via phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to our office, provides accurate information about our programs to students, parents, guests, faculty, and staff in a timely manner.

This position also assists our staff with the production of program materials, mail preparation, copying, scanning, and making small deliveries and picking up items from locations on campus.

The student assistant position requires working with offices and individuals throughout the university. Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated campus involvement through student organizations or experiential learning.
  2. Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
  3. Current KU undergraduate student enrolled in no less than 6 credit hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Customer service experience as demonstrated by application materials.
  2. Database entry experience as demonstrated by application materials.
