Position Overview

This position coordinates and oversees the internal work of the CCO to ensure positive relationships within the CCO staff as well as the implementation of effective, meaningful programming and programs. In doing this, the Managing Director must also make sure needs of the internal programs and program coordinators are met to foster a positive service experience for volunteers centered on awareness and social justice.

Job Description

Job duties include but are not limited to:
1. Hiring Executive Staff, including Development, Communications, and Creative Directors.
2. Selecting CCO Program Coordinators.
3. Supervising all CCO Programs and Program Coordinators.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with programs to ensure goal setting and optimal programming.
  • Assign Program Coordinator office hour tasks.
4. Monitoring each program’s yearly progress.
  • Ensure yearly notebooks updates.
  • Give documentation opportunities to coordinators and volunteers.
  • Managing and tracking the yearly budget.
5. Attending CCO Advisory Board meetings and reporting program updates.
6. Encouraging and facilitating collaborative events and programs within the CCO programs.
7. Organizing CCO Coordinator Fall and Spring retreats.
8. Attending CCO Executive Staff meetings.
9. Working with CCO Advisor on CCO programming.
10. Assisting in Peer Advising Program by advising up to 6 programs as well as both the Creative and Communications Directors.
11. Participating in the planning of the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day festivities with the Office of the Vice Provost of Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications

  1. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at KU.
  2. Evidenced commitment to community outreach and service.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively with others as evidenced in application material.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with the Center for Community Outreach.

Please note, this position will be at an hourly rate of $8.25 through the summer. Beginning in the fall, will switch to a salaried rate of $478.50 biweekly.
