Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Student-Veteran Liaison will perform a variety of routine clerical, reception, and office support functions for the Military-Affiliated Student Center in Summerfield Hall.

Daily responsibilities include assisting with dissemination of general inquiries about VA benefits and services; providing assistance to current and prospective students with questions about KU’s military-affiliated student services, VA benefits processes, etc. via phone, email and/or in person; maintaining and organizing veteran-related files; etc.

Work Schedule: Flexible, 5-20 hours/week

Required Qualifications

  1. KU student, ¾ time or greater, in good standing.
  2. VA Work Study eligible. To determine eligibility, visit: the VA’s Work Study page.
  3. Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
  4. Experience working independently and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prior experience in an office/customer service setting.
  2. Ability to work with a wide range of students, prospective students, faculty, and staff.
  3. Prior experience in web design, editing, or use of CMS.
  4. Effective written communication skills.
