Position Overview

The Department of Dance within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Kansas invites qualified applicants to submit applications for a part-time Accompanist for Dance Technique Classes that includes a variety of musical styles, improvising, and/or sight reading. The Accompanist pool is renewed every two years. The Department accepts applications at any time, but normally makes appointments for Fall semester in May or June and for Spring semester in November and December. All appointments are contingent upon staffing needs.

Job Description

100% - Accompanist for Dance technique classes which will include a
variety of musical styles, improvising and/or sight reading.

Required Qualifications

Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through 1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in letter of application, and 2) record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in resume:
  1. Prior experience which required the ability to play a variety of musical styles, improvise and sight read.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with providing accompaniment for dance technique classes.
