Accounting Specialist
Position Overview
Position Requirement: The successful candidate will be required to be bonded within the first 30 days of employment.
This position is located in Parsons, Kansas.
Job Description
- Receive, track, and enter reported work time by the part-time employees into the appropriate QuickBooks Program for bi-weekly payment of time worked.
- Maintain general employment information on part-time employees as required.
- Prepare and update program reports, enter new families and employees in appropriate data-base.
- Manage accounts receivable and payables.
- Submission of tax reports and prepare needed materials for annual audit.
- Invoice agencies and Authenitcare (online system for state reporting) including submission of goal documentation/behavior tracking as required.
5%-Additional responsibilities will include but not limited to: answering the phone, receiving messages, program clerical support, attending meetings relative to this program and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency and three years of relevant experience or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business or related field with one year of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
- Minimum of one year experience, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (word, excel) or similar software programs.
- Effective organizational, attention to detail, and written/oral communication skills. Written skills will be evaluated by the quality of application materials, references, and work history. Oral competency will be evaluated at the interview stage and through reference checks. Organizational and attention to detail will be evaluated by the quality of the application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
- Three or more years with bookkeeping, payroll and/or accounts receivable and payable.
- Two years of experience with computers performing, Quicken, QuickBooks, and/or Microsoft Office(word, excel).
- Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Development Disabilities and/or Mental Illness.
