Position Overview

Agile Technology Solutions (ATS) a center within Achievement and Assessment Institute is looking for an experienced and motivated Research Architect to join its team. This individual will be part of a high performing technology team that is focused on designing and developing next generation learning solutions that are cross platform compatible. Day to day activities will include architecting/designing new applications and working with the developers on changes made to all existing enterprise class web applications used to facilitate and enhance the learning process.

Job Description


50% - Technical consultant to development team and leadership. Coordinates and/or collaborates with developers, analysts and/or engineers to test, troubleshoot, build, and maintain technology solutions, and to define and create user experiences. Assures creation and maintenance of system documentation, reporting, and review. Acts as a technical lead or consultant on various projects, and leads the development of intellectual property. Exhibits creativity, foresight and mature judgment in conducting research programs/projects

30% - Conceptualization and design of systems and their components. Leads or coordinates design team and/or collaborates with researchers utilizing business process thinking and best practices to conceptualize, design, create, prototype, implement, and maintain network, hardware and/or software solutions that support research and assessment. Works on extremely complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.

10% - Gather intelligence related to technology trends and competing products. Stay abreast of trends within the industry as they relate to future innovation of our products and development of new products. Review industry standards and recommend migration paths to align with those standards.

10% - Represent ATS and AAI to the technical community at large. Participates and/or collaborates in grant development and may serve an outreach role to establish system collaboration opportunities. May participate in new external collaborative product development.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or other related field and five years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proficient with risk analysis and mitigation
  2. Proficient with security analysis and vulnerability mitigation
  3. Experience with disaster recovery planning, review and improvement
  4. Experience with cloud solution architectures
  5. Project Management Professional (PMP)
