Job Description

  1. Greet and assist visitors, students, faculty, staff, etc.
  2. Receive and transfer phone calls and messages in the office and possibly remotely.
  3. Schedule appointments.
  4. General clerical duties such as filing, typing letters or documents, proof reading, data entry, scanning, faxing, photocopying, shredding and stocking office supply cabinet.
  5. Assist other office personnel with projects when needed.
  6. Assist with maintaining a clean and neat office (straighten publications and bookshelves, dusting, watering plants, recycling, and other cleaning tasks).
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Enrollment at KU in at least six (6) hours at the University of Kansas.
  2. Activities and interaction involving international students that demonstrate multi-cultural sensitivity, as evidenced by application materials.
  3. Must be available to work a minimum of 9 - 12 hours per week.
  4. Must be available to work during the summer.
  5. Federal Work Study eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Strong attention to detail as evidenced in application materials and interview.
  2. Experience in an office setting or in a customer service role.
  3. Familiarity with scanning documents.
  4. Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook.
  5. Familiarity with Skype and Zoom.

Monday through Friday (8-5 varied hours with flexible availability preferred). Ideal candidate will be consistently available for a minimum 2-hour blocks of time. Must be able to work a minimum of 9-12 hours per week. Must be available to work in the summer.
