Position Overview

Our programs and services enhance the retention and persistence of students, while supporting their academic, personal, and professional development. Additionally, through purposeful coalitions, we offer diversity and social justice education programs that foster inclusive learning environments for the campus community.

Job Description

  • Designs marketing materials, and maintains OMA social media accounts
  • Coordinates and assists with the planning and implementation of OMA social justice education programs and initiatives
  • Oversees one identity-based student advisory board
  • Co-facilitates social justice trainings for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Collaborates with campus partners and stakeholders on university-wide DEI programs
  • Assesses learning and expected outcomes for OMA programs
  • Assists in promotional tabling and OMA information presentations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and acceptance in the Higher Education master’s degree program for the 2022-2023 academic year
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; Native/Indigenous Americans, Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic and/or Asian/Asian American, American/Pacific Islander, and other marginalized identities
  • Training and/or experience in public speaking
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with members of the campus community (students, staff, and faculty)
  • Experience organizing and working independently on assigned tasks
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and facilitating social justice education programs, workshops, and trainings
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and social media utilization
