Position Overview

The Speech Perception, Cognition, and Hearing Laboratory, in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences and Disorders, is seeking a graduate student hourly research assistant.

Job Description

Primary responsibilities will be to carry out electrophysiological data collection with human participants. Training in EEG methodology and research with human participants will be provided.

Required Qualifications

1. Graduate Student
2. Able to work approximately 10 hours per week on the Lawrence campus
3. Able to commit to 3+ hour increments
4. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrophysiology (EEG)
  • Experience with research with human participants
  • Availability and interest in continuing for multiple semesters
  • Completing a degree in a related area, such as Neuroscience, Audiology, Psychology, Linguistics, Speech-Language-Pathology, or Electrical Engineering
