Position Overview

This position supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Administrator and Coordinator in the Research Integrity unit of the Office of Research. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for accurate data entry and documentation for several key processes, and related correspondence with stakeholders. The incumbent may also be involved in web content monitoring, outreach, quality assurance projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Description

  • Manage data processing to track various compliance records per KU, state and federal policies and regulations. Follow-up as needed to ensure documentation is complete. Periodically audit records and create reports.
  • Work with IACUC staff to research, create, update and distribute various communications and informational materials for researchers and administrators.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
  • 8am-5pm M-F must be able to work in minimum of 2 hour blocks during academic year.
  • Available to work in minimum of 2 hour blocks, 10-15 hours/week during academic year.
  • Available to work for at least one academic year.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours of KU classes.
  • Work experience requiring accurate data entry and management as demonstrated in application materials.
  • Experience with MS Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written communication skills, including grammatical accuracy and ability to compose simple professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a remote work context.
  • Work experience that required accuracy and attention to detail, including ability to maintain established protocols for data entry and electronic filing.
  • Experience requiring analytical skills and/or ability to comprehend complex regulations and processes.
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of KU, familiarity with KU resources.
  • Available to work during the summer. Available to work longer than one year.
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study funding.
