Grader - Student Hourly
Position Overview
The Department of Religious Studies invites juniors, seniors, and graduate students with experience in religious studies to submit applications to be a Grader in undergraduate religious studies courses during the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 semesters.
Job Description
100% of job duties include: completing assigned readings, attending or viewing lectures, and assisting professors in grading assignments and exams. As time allows, Graders may be asked to participate in class discussions and assist students in mastering course concepts.
Graders will be assigned to one or more undergraduate religious studies courses per semester according to department needs. Possible courses include: REL 100 Introduction to Religious Ethics, REL 104 Introduction to Religious Studies, REL 106 Asian Religions, REL 107 Jews, Christians, and Muslims, REL 137 Religious Ethics & Moral Decisions, and REL 171 Religion in American Society.

Required Qualifications
- A junior, senior, or graduate student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Background knowledge of religious studies, as evidenced by successful completion of the particular course to which they are assigned to work.
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
Preferred Qualifications
- Major or minor in Religious Studies or related discipline

Advertised Salary Range
$12 per hour
Work Schedule
Up to 10 hours a week with flexible hours.
