Student Hourly - Office Assistant


Job Description

  • Serve as the first point of contact in the office, including answering phones, welcoming students and visitors, scheduling appointments and responding to student questions.
  • Maintain student records by filing paperwork and using an electronic database system.
  • Support Study Abroad staff on projects that may include photocopying, collating printed materials, making requests/inquiries by telephone and email, spreadsheet entry, proofreading, mail preparation, errands and other duties as requested.
  • We are looking for organized, mature, detail-oriented and driven individuals.

Required Qualifications

  1. Experience in a study abroad program.
  2. Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Word processing experience.
  5. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Administrative work experience.
  2. Self-motivated and independent.
  3. Experience in a semester or academic year study abroad program.

Advertised Salary Range

$10.25 per hour

Work Schedule

12 - 15 hours weekly in minimum 2-hour blocks, with availability between 8am - 5pm, Monday thru Friday; must at least be able to work through Fall 2024 semester, but longer would be preferable.
