Student Office Assistant
Job Description
Serve as the first point of contact in the office, including answering phones, welcoming students and visitors, scheduling appointments, and responding to student questions. Maintain student records by filing paperwork and using an electronic databasing system. Provide support to Study Abroad staff on projects that may include photocopying, collating printed materials, making requests/inquiries by telephone and email, spreadsheet entry, proof reading, mail preparation, errands, and other duties as requested. We are looking for organized, mature, detailed-oriented, and driven individuals. 12-15 hours per week in minimum 2-hour time blocks. Must at least be able to work through Fall 2023, but longer would be preferable.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum enrollment in at least 6 credit hours at the University of Kansas.
- Experience on a study abroad program.
- Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills as demonstrated by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Attention to detail.
- Word processing experience.
- Administrative work experience.
- Self-motivated and independent.
- Experience on a semester or academic year study abroad program.
