Position Overview

This position is one of two Marketing Program Managers for KU Recreation Services. The optimal candidate will promote KU Recreation Services to the KU community through the use of design and creation of flyers and other materials, use of graphics on electronic screens throughout the building, posting to social media, and using photography and videos to enhance the messaging. This position is for the Summer 2022 term ONLY.

Job Description

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Create and maintain flyers, ads, and promotional materials for Recreation Services.
Assist staff in developing marketing tools to promote all aspects of Recreation Services.
Use photography and video to help promote all programs and events for KU Recreation Services.
Stay creative and find new ways to get the word out about KU Recreation Services.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at KU during the Spring 2022 semester.
Design, Illustration, Visual Arts, or equivalent major.
1 year minimum experience in creating and developing printed and online materials.
Self-motivated and able to work on multiple tasks at once as evidenced in application materials.
Good written and verbal communication skills as evidenced in application materials.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency using all programs in Adobe Creative Suite as shown on application.
Current CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.
Current NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in photography and video.
Working knowledge of video editing programs.
