Position Overview

Bioengineering Research Center Laboratories has an immediate need for student hourly support. We are looking for dependable self-starters who wish to contribute as a valued team member with office and lab duties.

Job Description

1. Assist Director of Bioengineering Research Center Laboratories with lab records system
2. Monitor back-up systems in labs
3. Assist with specimen preparation
4. Data collection using spectroscopic and microscopic instrumentation
5. Assist at front desk
6. Data base entry
7. Campus errands, and other duties and projects as assigned
8. Prepare invoices for lab usage

Required Qualifications

1. KU student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours each fall/spring
2. Able to work during some school breaks and through summer
3. Able to commit minimum 3+ hour increments

Preferred Qualifications

1. First preference will be given to FEDERAL WORK STUDY applicants
2. Chemistry background
3. Database and Excel experience
4. Experience working in an office environment
5. Ability to work independently
6. Attention to detail
7. Strong computer skills
8. Excellent communication and organizational skills
9. Interest in possibly continuing in position through summer and next academic year
