Position Overview
The Center of Community Outreach overseas 13 programs that provide meaningful service opportunities for students, address various needs through collaborative partnerships, and empower our community through education and advocacy.
This position coordinates and oversees the internal work of the Center for Community Outreach (CCO). In doing this, the Managing Director must ensure that the center’s budget is maintained and sufficient so that needs of the programs and program coordinators can be met. This is achieved through outreach to donors, diligent record-keeping of donations, and regular communication with the CCO advisor and Student Senate treasurer to maintain understanding of the status of funds. The Managing Director must also work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that internal programs, development, and publicity match the community needs while fulfilling the organization’s mission.

Job Description
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Hiring Executive CCO Staff.
- Selecting CCO Program Coordinators.
- Supervising all CCO Programs and Program Coordinators.
- Coordinate weekly meetings with programs to ensure goal setting and optimal programming.
- Assign Program Coordinator office hour tasks.
- Monitoring each program’s yearly progress.
- Ensure yearly notebooks updates.
- Give documentation opportunities to coordinators and volunteers.
- Managing and tracking the yearly budget.
- Attending CCO Advisory Board meetings and reporting program updates.
- Encouraging and facilitating collaborative events and programs within the CCO programs.
- Organizing CCO Coordinator Fall and Spring retreats.
- Attending CCO Executive Staff meetings.
- Working with CCO Advisor on CCO programming.
- Assisting in Peer Advising Program by advising up to 6 programs as well as both the Creative and Communications Directors.
- Abide by the codes of conduct outlined for the Managing Director in the Student Senate Rules and Regulations Article II Section 14. Responsibilities of the Center for Community Outreach Managing Director, Article VI Section I. Renumeration, and Appendix B Article B.6 Section 4. Center for Community Outreach Advisory Board.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at KU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with the Center for Community Outreach.
- Evidenced commitment to community outreach and service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others as evidenced in application material.

Please note, this position will be at an hourly rate through the summer. Beginning in the fall, this will switch
to a salaried rate.
