POOL - Lecturer, Aerospace Engineering
The dates of appointment will vary as needs are identified and coincide with the beginning of the academic semester.
Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
20%-Plan and organize the course, prepare the syllabus.
20%-Provide instruction throughout the semester, usually 3 hours/week per course.
20%-Develop assignments, administer test, evaluate student course work, provide feedback to students and assign grades.
10%-Keeping office hours (3 hours per week).
10%-Lecturers of graduate courses may assume limited advising duties or assist with thesis as arranged with the department chair.
- To teach undergraduate classes (499 and below): Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related scientific discipline. To teach graduate courses (500 and higher): Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related scientific discipline.
- 1 to 4 years teaching experience in Aerospace Engineering or closely related scientific discipline OR 1 to 4 years of work experience in a related field.
- Prior experience teaching the specific course of interest.
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering
