Position Overview
The Center for Educational Opportunity Programs (CEOP) is hiring a Temporary Program Assistant to work for the TRIO Talent Search Program in Kansas City, KS. The position will provide day-to-day administrative operations of the department and to assist in several specific projects that were halted due to the pandemic. The successful candidate will be a professional who can work independently with strict attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality, manage several projects at a time, have strong organization skills, and demonstrate high integrity while adhering to the principles of promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in education.
TRIO Talent Search is a TRIO college access program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Through early intervention, this program is designed to encourage participants to remain in school, graduate from high school, and to pursue post-secondary education. Talent Search works with over 900 middle and high school students in Kansas City, KS.

Job Description
Administrative Support (85%)
- Assist with the student filing system and student documentation processes as well as ensuring these records are accurate and up-to-date. Assist with electronic database management and processes and data entry (ACCESS).
- Manage small and large office projects including but not limited to mailings, reports, event preparations, summer programming tasks and general office tasks.
- Assist Director on special projects.
- Provide support and coordination with various program activities including direct communication with participants and families, and managing registration, advertising, marketing and mailings for these activities.
- Assist in support of participants and program as assigned by supervisor.
- Adheres to deadlines and regulations regarding required program documentation and data collection.
Position Requirements
This position is on-site in Kansas City, KS.
Required Qualifications
- Earned High School Diploma
- At least 6 months of general work experience
- Excellent organizational skills, as evidence by application materials
- Excellent written and communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 24 hours of earned college credit (2nd year status)
- Prior experience working with TRIO or similar programs
- Experience balancing many short-term projects that required high levels of attention to detail as evidenced by application materials.
