Position Overview

This position will serve as the receptionist for the Applied English Center and be the student assistant for Applied English Center staff members.

Job Description

The Receptionist for the Applied English Center will answer phones, take messages, greet visitors to the Applied English Center and give out standard information. They will sign students up for the Proficiency Exam, hand out test results and give enrollment instructions. These students will also serve as the Student Assistant to staff members. Duties will include copying, filing, greeting visitors, answering the phone, and any additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written communication skills and clear command of the English language, as evidenced by the application materials and interview.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills as evidenced by the application materials and interview
  • Demonstrated experience working work with a diverse population in a patient and helpful way
  • Not enrolled in any Applied English Center Courses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Awarded and Accepted a FWS award.
  • Prior customer service experience, able to work with a diverse population in a patient and helpful way.
  • Interest in working with International Students
  • Prompt and dependable.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Previous computer experience, including Microsoft Office, as evidenced by application materials
