Position Overview

We are looking for a Student Hourly Research Assistant to work on NIH funded research projects on language acquisition. The hours are between 8:00 -5:00, Monday - Friday with 20 hours when classes are in session and additional hours possible when classes are not in session. Position is year-round.

Job Description

Scoring of standardized and in-house language assessments, transcription, data entry, filing, photocopying.

Required Qualifications

1. Students holding student hourly appointments must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during the academic year. Enrollment of one credit hour during the summer session is required if the student was not enrolled the previous spring or is not pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall term.
2. Experience with word processing software, as evidenced in application materials.
3. Required 2.75 GPA or better.
4. Native English speaker, as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with electronic language analysis and data storage.
Experience with spreadsheet type data entry.
3. Experience with young children,
4. Knowledge of child language acquisition literature.
