Position Overview

The Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR), a designated center within the Achievement and Assessment Institute (AAI), seeks a full-time Research Project Coordinator to coordinate project teams and implement strategic initiatives. CPPR specializes in applied research, transforming systems, and translating tech into social service practices in support of our mission to optimize the well-being of children, youth, and families. CPPR drives change at local, state, and national levels through applied research, data science, digital and systems transformation, strategic foresight and innovation, and translation and dissemination efforts that support national, state, and community partners in realizing their vision for healthy, flourishing families and communities. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about social change for good.

This position will drive internal and external partner communication to ensure high quality deliverables and timelines are met. The work may include meeting scheduling and facilitation, agenda preparation, developing workplans and timelines, identifying and assessing competing priorities, and implementing new or existing processes. The person in this position will ensure timelines are met and high-quality work is delivered as defined by the scope of work. A successful applicant should have prior experience coordinating program implementation, ensuring appropriate communication across a team, working with data, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working on issues related to children and families is helpful.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

75% - Project Coordination
  • Implement strategy and execute workplans for new and existing projects.
  • Manage partner relationships and day-to-day decision making
  • Track and coordinate deliverables and timelines to ensure timely completion of quality work.
  • Organize materials and electronic files for efficient cross-team collaboration.
  • Schedule meetings to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Develop agenda's, capture notes, and manage next steps and follow-up for meetings.
  • Utilize various data collection, facilitation, and project management tools.
  • Lead trainings and orientation sessions for partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to stakeholders.
  • Represent CPPR projects and teams at relevant meetings, conferences, and webinars as needed.
  • Facilitate internal/external meetings necessary to meet project and CPPR objectives.
  • Initiate and be responsive to internal/external team members using approved and preferred electronic communication tools (i.e. email, Microsoft Teams, Asana, etc).
  • Participate in-person in site visits and/or other meetings as appropriate..
15% - Report Preparation and Dissemination
  • Write reports and documentation related to grant projects, including progress and summary reports.
  • Create publications, presentations, and other strategies to disseminate project results to varied audiences.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Translate complex data/ideas into language appropriate for the intended audience.
10% - Other Duties as Assigned
  • Engage in activities related to forwarding the mission of CPPR.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as directed by supervisor.

Position Requirements

On-site, hybrid, and fully remote-based candidates and working arrangements will be considered. Travel and in-person work may be required.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience, or high school diploma and 4 years of related experience.
2. Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated through application materials.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and effectively coordinate a team and/or project as demonstrated through previous work experience.
4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to exercise initiative when necessary and appropriate, as demonstrated through work experience and application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's Degree.
2. Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Experience working with maternal and early childhood programs.
4. Experience with data management/collection systems, and/or tools (i.e. Qualtrics, SPSS, Excel, etc.).
5. Experience with project management software.
6. Knowledge of the University of Kansas, its policies and its procedures.
