Job Description
Required Qualifications
- Tutor MUST qualify for and accept Federal Work Study to become a tutor.
- Tutor MUST have transportation to and from the Lawrence Public Library.
- The student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments). For the fall semester, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Children in schools, camp, or other settings.
- Interest and passion for working with children in pre-Kindergarten through grade nine.
- Self-motivation and desire to go "above and beyond" to promote student learning.
- Responsibility and personal accountability for completing tasks; attention to details and deadlines.
- Elementary or Middle/Secondary Education major.
- Commit to working through the academic year, with option to work through the summer.

Work Schedule
The position is schedule to begin August 22 or soon afterwards.
Work Schedule: 5-15 hours per week. Flexible hours later afternoon, evening and weekends.
Work Location: Lawrence Public Library; Possibility of online tutoring, depending on Covid restrictions.
