Job Description
The Campus Cupboard coordinator assists in the operations of the KU Campus Cupboard, a centralized on-campus food pantry. The Cupboard is open 30 hours per week, when classes are in session.
Coordinate food procurement and food recovery efforts for the Campus Cupboard through collaborative partnerships with Just Food, KU Dining, and other campus and community partners. Assist with food pickup and delivery in collaboration with Just Food. Ability to lift 10 pounds and stock shelves as needed.
Be present in the Cupboard during its hours of operation and available to help students shop to select nutritious food options. Ensure visitors are logged in and entered into the visitor spreadsheet. Help to ensure safe social distancing and hygiene practices within the space.
Work alongside volunteers. Provide brief training and support to volunteers working in the Cupboard.
Participate in weekly supervisory meetings with supervisor. Maintain open lines of communication.
Respond to emails sent to campuscupboard@ku.edu.
Provide one-on-one consultation with clients to identify campus and community resources and make appropriate referrals as necessary. Refer students to and help them apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, a monthly government supplement for purchasing nutritious food.
Follow policies related to:

Required Qualifications
As evidenced on application material:
- Enrolled student in at least 6 credit hours with interest in working with peers, experiencing basic needs insecurity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid and current driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working or volunteering in a food pantry setting

Advertised Salary Range
$10.00 per hour
Work Schedule
10-15 hours per week.
