Position Overview
This position assists with various segments of the financial aid programs administered by the Financial Aid and Scholarships office. The primary duties of this position will be to serve as the KU Endowment Association (KUEA) liaison. The University of Kansas Lawrence Campus office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS) serves students, families, and the community by providing federal, state, and institutional financial aid information and resources to assist students in achieving their educational goals. FAS is committed to providing quality financial aid services to its constituents while maintaining equality and accountability in the administration of public, institutional, and private financial aid funds. The office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is a department within the Enrollment Management division.
Job Description
Responsibilities could include but are not limited to the following program areas:
1. Serves as the primary processor for KU Endowment Loans. This includes daily review of KU Endowment Loan Applications, confirming borrower eligibility, communicating with students regarding various issues with their application, and posting awards in the Student Administration System.
2. Serves as the liaison between KU Endowment Loan Association and KU Financial Aid & Scholarships Office. This includes daily communication with KU Endowment Loan Program Coordinators.
3. Reviews and adjusts student budgets in the Student Administration System as needed.
4. Processes Additional Aid Requests, Reinstatement of Aid Requests, Parent/Grad PLUS loans, and Private/Alternative Loans.
5. Processes Federal Work Study Requests.
6. Reviews loan and FWS reports and makes aid adjustments as needed.
7. Processes Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals for committee review.
8. Provides administrative support for the Emergency Aid Network.
9. Completes special projects as assigned. Job responsibilities may be adjusted based on the needs of the office.
