Job Description

KU Libraries seeks a creative, innovative, and responsible undergraduate or graduate student to serve as Program Assistant for the KU Libraries Center for Undergraduate Initiatives & Engagement. Responsibilities include assistance with the development and creation of online learning objects such as tutorials and videos, instructional design, and participating in outreach activities such as library orientation tours and information fairs as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
• Prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable software package and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Library work experience and/or familiarity with KU Libraries as a user.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrate a commitment to advancing diversity efforts in the Libraries and contribute to an inclusive environment.
• Experience with public speaking or performance.
• Ability to draw in 2D to create sketches, artwork, and illustrations.
• Experience with animation, graphic design, and/or digital illustration.
• Experience with storyboarding, filmmaking, and/or digital storytelling.
• Experience designing interactive learning objects.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and/or other video production and visual effect software.
