Position Overview

The Sport Club Program Manager reports to the Assistant Director- Sport Clubs and serves as a liaison between the Sport Club Program Administration and the sport club participants. The Program Managers supervises and provides leadership to 3-5 Sports Club Supervisors. The Program Manager will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the administration of the Sport Club Program, including: event management, club communication, office coverage, data collection, risk management, creating and implementing policies and procedures, marketing, and equipment inventory.

Job Description & Responsibilities:
  • Attend all mandatory staff training sessions and staff meetings
  • Maintain regular office hours and serve as a liaison to the Sports Club members
  • Coordinate Sport Club Council, Leadership Workshops, and Executive Board
    • Lead Monthly Sport Club Council Meetings
    • Make power point presentations to assist in the training of sport clubs
  • Implementation of Inventory Procedures
    • Checking in and out sport club equipment
  • Maintain databases (waivers, equipment, practices, events, report card, etc.)
  • Enforce all policies and procedures
  • Assist in all Sport Club Program initiatives, including club training sessions and meetings
  • Provide home event coverage (games, seminars, tournaments, etc.)- if needed
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Assist in the budgetary process
  • Assist in implementation of risk management
  • Work with recreation software: Connect 2, DSEKU, & Fusion
  • Coordinate practice/game schedules & documenting sport clubs travel
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications :
  • Must be currently enrolled student at the University of Kansas Lawrence Campus in at least 6 credit hours
  • Obtain & Maintain current CPR/AED (training provided)
  • Must be available to work some weekdays, weeknights, and weekends (15-20 hours per week)
  • Possess a general knowledge of sports
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and does not need constant supervision as evident of the application material
  • A basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher
  • Must have a current Drivers License

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced in the application materials and interview process
