Position Overview

The Temporary IT Support Technician position is responsible for working as a part of a team to provide technical support for end users. Job Description

100% on the duties below:
  1. Provide basic technical support via phone, email, chat, or in person.
  2. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  3. Maintain accurate hardware inventory.
  4. Create and update support tickets in ticket management system.
  5. Install, upgrade, image, and configure computer hardware and software.
  6. Provide support to campus support staff when requested.
  7. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  1. Able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week.
  2. Valid current driver's license.
  3. Able to work over academic, holiday, and summer breaks.
  4. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma/GED and 6 months of relevant experience. (Experience can be via work history and/or class work or projects.)
  2. Excellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience using or managing Windows, Mac and/or Linux operating systems.
  2. Experience working in a customer service centric environment.
  3. Previous professional experience supporting/troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
  4. Experience using or managing Dell computer hardware.
  5. Experience using or managing multi-function devices (print/fax/scan devices.)
  6. Experience using a ticketing system (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
  7. Experience using a configuration management solution (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.)
  8. Knowledge of LAN/WAN principles and protocols.
  9. Experience creating technical documentation.
