Position Overview

Student research aides will assist the astronomy and experimental particle physics groups with their research and/or outreach activities for the period of the appointment. Students will document their findings, present oral reports on their work, and coordinate their work with the research teacher, faculty mentors, and other students. These temporary positions are for up to eight weeks during the summer of 2022 as part of the QuarkNet Summer Program.

Job Description

100% Assist the experimental particle physics group with their research and outreach activities. Students will perform tasks in accordance with assigned instructions and may work independently on assignments or in groups.

Position Requirements

Majority of work will be on-site. 1082 Malott Hall

Required Qualifications

1) A year of high school physics, as demonstrated in application materials.
2) Current high school student or 2022 high school graduate, as demonstrated in application materials.
