Position Overview

KU School of Business Management and Entrepreneurship Area is hiring students to join the Jayhawk Consulting team for Fall 2023. Duties include providing advisory and consulting services to various clients from the community. Individual projects will vary in scope and size, but students may anticipate working up to 10 hours a week.

This is a valuable opportunity for students to obtain experience dealing with real challenges faced by organizations. Team members will hone their relationship and communication skills while expanding their networks.

Job Description

Job Duties
  • Meet with existing clients and identify potential clients.
  • Complete assessments to identify and understand client’s needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to design project timelines and produce deliverables.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with clients and various stakeholders.
  • May be responsible for presentations, satisfaction surveys or program reports.
  • Must be available for weekly team meetings.

Work Schedule is approximately 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Required Qualifications

  1. Must be a KU student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Suites. Especially, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
During the semester term of the appointment, the KU student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Evidence of strong communication, empathy, and ability to relate to others.
  2. Demonstrated ability to attend to details and meet deadlines.
