Asst/Assoc/Full Professor of Information Systems
Position Overview
The School of Business at the University of Kansas is conducting a search for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems and related disciplines such as analytics, and operations management for the 2025-26 academic year. Appointment at rank of either Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on an applicant’s scholarly and teaching record. Candidates with an exceptional record may also be considered for an endowed professorship. This is an open-rank, full-time, tenured/tenure-track position beginning August 18, 2025.
Successful candidates will be expected to continue to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high quality publications in leading academic journals, to teach courses with rigorous academic content at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level, and to engage in service and outreach activities that advance the educational mission of the School of Business and the University of Kansas. Special emphasis will be given to the area of information security and assurance as well as other innovative areas such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.

Job Description
40% Teaching - Teach a combination of required and elective courses in information systems and/or business analytics at the undergraduate, MBA and/or doctoral levels.
40% Research - Conduct and publish research on information systems and/or business analytics topics in leading academic journals.
20% Service - Engage in school, university, and professional service activities.

Required Qualifications
Evaluation of these requirements will be made through application materials. Appointment at a particular level will be based on an applicant’s scholarly and teaching record.

- A Ph.D. in Information Systems or related disciplines such as analytics, operations management, and industrial engineering (must be earned by August 18, 2025).
- Demonstrated (or high potential for) scholarship excellence as shown through publications in leading academic journals in business analytics and/or information systems, and promising research projects and papers targeted to leading journals.
- Demonstrated (or high potential for) teaching excellence in information systems and/or business analytics with a special focus on the area of information security and assurance.
For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor:
- A Ph.D. in Information Systems or related disciplines such as analytics, operations management, and industrial engineering.
- Demonstrated excellent scholarship as shown through publications that would have enabled the candidate to be successfully promoted to Associate Professor at a research-oriented university of a similar or higher research profile as the University of Kansas.
- Record of productive teaching excellence in information systems and/or business analytics with a special focus on the area of information security and assurance.
For appointment at the rank of Full Professor:
- A Ph.D. in Information Systems or related disciplines such as analytics, operations management, and industrial engineering.
- Sustained record of excellent scholarship as shown through publications that would have enabled the candidate to be successfully promoted to Full Professor at a research-oriented university of a similar or higher research profile as the University of Kansas.
- Established record of teaching excellence in information systems and/or business analytics, as well as experience directing doctoral students, with a special focus on the area of information security and assurance.
