Edwards Campus - Events Specialist
Position Overview
The Events Specialist reports to the Manager, Campus Events and responsible for executing the hospitality plans for meetings and events for internal customers (Recruiting, Student Services, etc.) and external, revenue- generating clients. The chosen candidate is expected to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external constituencies.

Job Description
30% - Communicate ‘day of’ logistics to clients and serve as ‘day of’ event contact for all events held on campus.
30% - Responsible for greeting client, beverage and linen set-ups, and communicating details to Information Technology, Campus Facilities and Security.
15% - Schedule events for external and internal clients.
10% - Participate in the development and implementation of new, internal events to enhance Edwards Campus teams development and staff recognition.
10%- Responsible for all event inventory. Manage beverage and linen services. Grow good relationships with internal and external vendors in support of event implementation.
5%- Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution in communications, public relations, education or other relevant field and a minimum of one year of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing events OR an Associate's degree in communications, public relations, education or other relevant field with an emphasis in hospitality and a minimum of three years' experience in planning, organizing, and implementing events.
- Requires excellent organization, negotiation, and high level of customer service skills as evidenced in application materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and proven versatility with technology as evidenced in application materials.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and work well as a team member as demonstrated in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in program development and constituent relations.
- Individual must have initiative, use judgment, and be self-motivated as evidence by work history.
- Experience with 25Live scheduling software, Excel, Teams, and Qualtrics.
- Prior experience and knowledge of University of Kansas policies and procedures.
