Position Overview
KU Aerospace Engineering Department (KUAE) seeks an applicant pool of temporary pilots to fly the department’s Cessna 172. The aircraft will be flown domestically either under the normal category airworthiness certificate or under a special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category. Flight activities will support multidisciplinary research conducted at the University.
Job Description
85% - Pilot, and navigate the aircraft
15% - Prepare the aircraft for operation, including pre-and post-flight inspections
15% - Prepare the aircraft for operation, including pre-and post-flight inspections
Position Requirements
- May be required to travel out-of-state overnight
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Pilot’s license with a Single Engine, Land rating
- 250 hours total logged flight time, any aircraft
- 20 hours logged time in a single-engine aircraft
- 50 hours in a Cessna 172
- Current Class II medical certificate
- Three take-offs and landings as a sole manipulator of the flight controls in a single-engine aircraft within the previous 90 days.
