Project Coordinator


Position Overview

Assessment & Technology Solutions (ATS), a center within The Achievement & Assessment Institute (AAI) at KU, is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator to join our team. The Project Coordinator is part of a high performing team that is focused on designing, developing, and managing next generation assessment solutions. Day to day activities will include:
  • Entering K-12 assessment content items into our content banking system
  • Tagging content to support text to speech administration
  • Verifying items will properly display for students and ensuring test forms align with requirements
  • Managing the documentation and training materials, including technical documents, how-to manuals, training presentations, training video (scripts), and other guides for the field, and
  • Performing tests to ensure the software created by our development teams meets client requirements.

Job Description

60% Technical Documentation
Coordinate technical documentation creation and updates related to the software developed by ATS. Activities will initiate from new projects and client requests. Facilitate and attend meetings to discover documentation needs. Working with leadership, develop plans and coordinate/oversee to successful completion of documentation needs.

40% Test Operations Support
Support content development within the Kite Content Portal application. Enter items, tag items
for text to speech, incorporate American Sign Language videos, ensure item displays properly for our
students, and prepare materials for vendors. Organize materials received from content team and prepare forms for assessments. Assist in developing paper pencil forms and validating items within the Kite Student Portal. Perform a variety of technical tasks using established development guidelines and processes. Coordinate and provide feedback to curriculum and assessment developers and reviewers. Troubleshoot display problems and recommend solutions.

Position Requirements

This position will be hybrid with at least two days in our office located at 1515 St. Andrews Dr., Lawrence, KS.

Required Qualifications

  1. HS Diploma / GED and three years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree and one year of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree.
  2. One year editing experience.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, as demonstrated in application materials.
  4. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Journalism, or Communications.
  2. Experience in K-12 education.
  3. Experience with proofreading.
  4. Experience with accessibility standards for public documents (both print and digital).

Advertised Salary Range

$22.00 - $26.00/hour

Work Schedule

20 hours/week, Schedule is flexible within the workweek of 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday
