Research Project Coordinator


Position Overview

We are seeking 1-3 full-time CW-FIT Research Project Coordinators to expand the evidence-based CW-FIT intervention to rural schools by utilizing a CW-FIT Micro-credentialing program embedded in a Rural Coaching Model. Rural Coaches will be trained by CW-FIT Trainers and will then, in turn, train and support teachers. The research project focuses on implementing the rural coaching model in elementary & middle school classrooms to enhance classroom management and improve student’s academic performance. The partners in the project will include 120 schools and 480 teachers across rural Kansas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Arizona, Colorado, and Oklahoma.

The CW-FIT Research Project Coordinator will be a CW-FIT Regional trainer and will oversee efforts including recruitment, training, and conference presentations. Willingness to travel out of state and to be flexible in scheduling around school schedules are required. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and management skills as evidenced in work experience. The position is at JGCP, located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas in the Children’s Campus of Kansas City building: 444 Minnesota Ave, Suite 300, Kansas City, KS 66101.

Reimbursement for travel in addition to salary. Please note that all offers of employment are contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the background check.

Continuation is contingent on satisfactory evaluation and available funding.

This position will be a hybrid of on-site work and telework as deemed by supervisor.

Due to complex state employment laws, the University of Kansas may be unable to hire fully remote workers for this position outside of Kansas. Job Description

50% - Coordinate efforts with project team in accordance with the project’s proposed plan and timeline including:
  • Direct one-to-one remote training of rural school coaches and teachers
  • Monitor and support participants in micro-credential program
20% - Coordinate efforts with an independent evaluation team to conduct assessments including video-direct observation of classrooms and survey administration.

20% - In collaboration with principal investigators, produce reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress at both regional and national rural conferences.

10% - Travel and virtual communication with Rural Schools to meet with school district partners to recruit, coordinate, support, and monitor activities based on approved plan and timeline. Travel will involve 3-4 times a year for up to 1-week each visit. Travel will also include 1-2 conferences per year with 2-4 days of travel for each conference.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of experience in field of study.
  2. Experience working independently with multiple individuals, with limited supervision as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Strong organizational skills, as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in indigenousness schools and or with Native American students, as demonstrated in application materials.
  2. Elementary or Secondary teaching certificate.
  3. Experience as an Academic Instructional Coach, as demonstrated in application materials.
  4. Experience in conference presentations, as demonstrated in application materials.
  5. Experience with Canvas, Brightspace or Blackboard online learning platform, as evidenced in work history.
  6. Strong communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials.
