Position Overview
The Institute for Policy & Social Research (IPSR) is a designated research center for the social sciences, supporting social science researchers at the University of Kansas. IPSR supports faculty-led research centers, their directors, and a network of more than 100 affiliates, and staff.
This position provides administrative support for Dr. Seo’s projects. The research project coordinator will write for multiple purposes/audiences and be and organized, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving. The research project coordinator will provide administrative support for project management, grant writing, and/or event planning and promotion.

Job Description
70% - Project Coordination
- Managing and addressing requests from an interdisciplinary project team offering evidence based technology education for marginalized populations.
- Organizing project team meetings and sessions with community partners.
- Communicating project-related information with the project team, community partners, advisory board, and external evaluation team.
- Documenting project development procedures including identifying milestones and creating workflow maps.
- Drafting and/or reviewing budget proposals and technical documentation for grant applications.
- Provides administrative assistance to project PI.
- Schedules meetings and manages project events.
- Assist with project management.
- Other tasks or projects as needed.
Position Requirements
Occasional travel to the Kansas City area <25%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience in field of study OR high school diploma and four (4) years of related experience.
- One (1) year of work experience in project management, grant writing, event planning, administrative support work, or related area.
- Excellent written communication skills as evidenced in application materials.
- Excellent organizational skills and experience working independently as demonstrated in application materials and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience planning and coordinating events as evidenced in application materials.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment as shown in application materials.
- Experience with synthesizing complex ideas and information relevant to particular audiences as evidenced by work history or professional training.
- Knowledge and experience with social media platforms and messaging as shown in application materials.
