Research Project Coordinator
Position Overview
We are seeking 1 full-time CW-FIT Research Project Coordinator to expand the evidence-based CW-FIT intervention to rural schools by utilizing a CW-FIT Micro-credentialing program embedded in a Rural Coaching Model. Rural Coaches will be trained by CW-FIT Trainers and will then, in turn, train teachers. The research project focuses on implementing the rural coaching model in elementary & middle school classrooms to enhance classroom management and improve student’s academic performance. The partners in the project will include 120 schools and 480 teachers across rural Kansas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Arizona, Colorado, and Oklahoma.
The CW-FIT Research Project Coordinator requires strong organizational, communication, and management skills as evidenced in work experience. The position is at JGCP, located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas in the Children’s Campus of Kansas City building: 444 Minnesota Ave, Suite 300, Kansas City, KS 66101.
Reimbursement for travel in addition to salary. Please note that all offers of employment are contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the background check. Continuation is contingent on satisfactory evaluation and available funding.
This position will be a hybrid of on-site work and telework as deemed by supervisor at Juniper Gardens and LSI-KU Lawrence.
Due to complex state employment laws, the University of Kansas may be unable to hire fully remote workers for this position outside of Kansas. Job Description
50% - Coordinate efforts with project team in accordance with the project’s proposed plan and timeline including:
- Coordinate development of study protocols to meet project goals and deadlines. Organize study activities such as: recruiting/managing participants, tracking study activities and timelines, assisting with training data collectors, and monitoring data collection activities (e.g., ensure timely provision of ClinCards or other participant incentive processing as required).
- Communicate regular project updates and organize inventory and ordering of necessary supplies. Assist in the development of project reports through writing, proofreading and document lay-out. Communicate with funders and coordinate with national experts to organize presentations and knowledge-sharing
- Assist with scheduling
- Monitor in-coming mail
- Organize and upload all participant consent forms
- Organize and prepare all out-going mail and supplies
- Review and track invoices, ensure timely processing with LSI grant coordinator
- Manage business service agreements: collect vendor information, draft agreements and facilitate submission
- Place orders for supplies and equipment following State, University, and granting agency procedures. As goods are received, check packing slip, note date received, and match with invoice before making final payment. Contact vendor to resolve discrepancies. Prepare documents for payment according to university and state procedures
- Assist in monitoring personnel effort on project
- Communicate observation schedule with schools
- Have recruitment meetings with principals
- Conduct brief observation of consented classrooms
- Enter observational data into database.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience in field of study
- Experience working independently with multiple individuals, with limited supervision as evidenced in application materials.
- Strong organizational skills as evidenced in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in indigenousness schools and or with native students as evidenced in application materials.
- Elementary or Secondary teaching certificate.
- Experience as an Academic Instructional Coach as evidenced in application materials.
- Experience in conference presentations as evidenced in application materials.
- Experience with Canvas, Brightspace or Blackboard online learning platform as evidenced in work history.
- Strong communication skills, as demonstrated by application materials.
