Wellness Coordinator


Position Overview

Under the direction of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Director, the Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, communicating, and evaluating wellness programs and activities for employees to promote their mental, physical, and emotional health in the workplace. As part of the Human Resource team, this position will have the opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders and partners to identify new and continuing initiatives supportive of a culture of care and wellbeing.

Job Description

50% - Wellness Programs
  • Design, execute and evaluate wellness programs to meet the needs of employees.
  • Create and engage in communication strategies to promote and encourage employee participation in wellness programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, campus groups, community partners, external sponsors, and vendors to support wellness programs and activities.
  • Coordinate and participate in wellness events, such as health fairs, workshops, lunch and learns, and seminars.
20% - Program Success Monitoring
  • Develop collection methods to solicit and analyze employee data and feedback to refine and improve programming.
  • Identify and measure key performance indicators for wellness program events.
  • Assist with development of budget for programs or events as needed by Director.
20% - Professional Development/Proposal Submission
  • Engage in professional development activities supportive in the growth and expertise of the field.
  • Review and identify external programs or grants for eligibility and coordinate activities related to proposal submission.
10% - Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Public Health or related field, or a High School diploma and 4 years of experience in a related field.
  2. Three years of experience working in the creation, development, implementation of programs in areas of wellness and/or human resources.
  3. Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills as identified by application materials, work history, and references.
  4. Previous work experience that required time management and organization skills.
  5. Previous work experience that involved event planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, etc.
  2. Project Management or programming experience, as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Coaching certificate.
  4. Experience in developing communication models, plans and materials to promote programs, as demonstrated by previous work experience.
  5. Work experience that required strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Previous work experience that required collaboration with departments and stakeholders, as evidenced in application materials.
