Development-Outreach Intern Student Hourly


Job Description

Development
  • Stewardship (thank you calls, notes and dropping off gifts to donors)
  • Solicit prizes for Audio-Reader’s golf tournament and other events
Outreach/Communications/Events Work
  • Help develop and implement marketing calendar
  • Social media – create content and take pictures at events
  • Write press releases
  • Help plan, set up and work events
  • Brainstorm new event
  • Listener outreach – contact listeners and help compile/analyze listener data
  • Table at outreach events
  • Help with Audio-Reader’s Good Works in the Heartland podcast – promotion, marketing and booking guests
Other Duties
  • Help at the Audio-Reader/KPR front desk
  • Occasional reading
  • Help prepare mailings
  • Help proof or prepare documents

Required Qualifications

  1. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products.
  3. Consistent availability to work at least three (3) days per week.
  4. Strong attention to detail as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous experience working in an administrative/office setting.
  2. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent audio editing software.
  3. Comfortable working with a wide variety of people.
