Health Navigator - Student Hourly
Position Overview
The incumbent is a student hourly position working at Watkins Health Services (WHS). The incumbent will staff the Information Desk in the lobby to greet customers, assist with questions, and provide support in using WHS services.
The incumbent in this position will see, hear, and possibly have access to confidential information that must be handled in accordance with all relevant state and federal laws and University policies and procedures regarding its use and disclosure.
WHS utilizes computer technology in all aspects of its operations, including an electronic registration system. The incumbent must become familiar with and be able to use the appropriate computer hardware and software programs associated with this position.
The incumbent must become familiar with and adhere to the WHS Customer Service Plan to ensure appropriate interaction and positive outcomes with both internal and external customers.

Job Description
60% - Engages with students throughout the service experience.
15% - Greet persons entering building, monitor the lobby, and report any unusual activity to appropriate administrative staff.
15% - Provide way finding instructions to various service areas, answers questions or direct persons to appropriate resources.
10% - Instruct new users on the Check-In Kiosk, and escorts customers to specific destinations within the health center as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Availability to work in 2–4-hour blocks of time,
- Possess excellent organizational and communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Freshman, Sophomore, junior, senior or graduate level student.
- Prior Customer Service experience.
- Health-related major or background.
Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Employment Conditions
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
