KU I-Corps Cohort Manager (Student Hourly)


Position Overview

This position is for a student manager for the KU NSF Regional I-Corps cohort program. The person in this position will assist the I-Corps program leaders in setting up and running cohorts of teams to undergo training on technology entrepreneurship. NSF I‑Corps Regional cohort programs provide intensive customer discovery training and mentoring to help research teams translate their innovations into viable commercial opportunities.

Job Description

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • 25% - Setting up and managing the Learning Management System (LMS) system for each cohort.
  • 15% - Handling professional communications with the cohort teams.
  • 15% - Managing Zoom interfaces during cohort meetings.
  • 10% - Working with KU I-Corps program leaders on team selection.
  • 10% - Tracking cohort team completion of deliverables.
  • 10% - Responding to I-Corps-related emails in a timely fashion.
  • 10% - Setting up interview times with potential cohort teams.
  • 5% - Coordinating with team on cohort stipend payment schedules.

Required Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated experience in organizing events, using a Learning Management System (e.g. Canvas), and writing professional communications as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. Previous experience managing a Learning Management System as evidenced by application materials.

Position Requirements

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Employment Conditions

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
