Research Assistant Student Hourly
Position Overview
Per the State of Kansas, student employees may hold concurrent appointments not to exceed maximum appointment and hours worked levels. However, concurrent student appointments must be of matching FLSA designation (exempt/salaried or non-exempt/hourly).
Job Description
KU Center on Disabilities (KUCD) State of the States in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities project seeks a motivated undergraduate KU student with strong work ethic and superior attention to details to assist with data entry and administrative research tasks in support of research to enhance the quality of life and inclusion of people with disabilities and their families. Responsibilities for this position would include tasks such as:
• 75% - Performing data entry and data management tasks through Excel, including meeting quality assurance standards of data entered
• 10% - Literature reviews and content research
• 10%- Developing project materials for dissemination
• 5%- Completing other duties as requested (e.g., photocopying, scanning, graphic design, etc.).
All research activities require strict maintenance of study participant confidentiality in accordance will all KU policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
- 1 year of proficiency with Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel and Outlook as evidenced in application materials.
- Strong oral and written communication skills as evidenced in application materials and interview.
- Strong attention to detail as evidenced in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with data entry, data management, or data reporting tasks using Excel, or similar software.
- Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program (CITI) Certified for Social/Behavioral modules.
- Passion for working with community organizations to support people with disabilities and their families.

Advertised Salary Range
$15-$18/hour
Work Schedule
Must be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling is possible during Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
