Sanders Scholar in Medieval Sigillography - Student Hourly

Position Overview

Sanders Scholars Award Provides Mentorship and Scholarship Opportunities for Students
The Sanders Scholars program, created through a gift from William J. Crowe and Nancy P. Sanders, provides funding for graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Kansas to work with a librarian mentor.
The program has two main objectives:
  1. Give students the opportunity to learn about librarianship and consider it as a career path.
  2. Recognize librarians for mentorship efforts and encourage them to mentor students.
Librarians can submit a project proposal to be considered for the program. The proposal should outline the project, timeline, learning objectives, and mentoring approach. If selected, the librarian can then recruit a student scholar for the academic year.
The award provides up to 300 paid hours at $15/hour. This could fund a 15 hour/week position for a semester or a different arrangement.
At the end of the experience, the mentor and scholar will give a public presentation. In addition to gaining valuable experience, this is a great professional development opportunity that will look excellent on a resume.
