Saraf Lab Asssitant - Student Hourly


Job Description

The candidate will have an interest in being a key contributing member in the lab, playing an essential role in preparing columns, and samples for mass-spectrometry analysis with the opportunity for learning and growth. Performs routine tests under the direction of the Core Director and other staff members. Performs research procedures on experimental samples as directed. Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log and lab notebooks. Performs tasks that require familiarity with fundamental techniques and equipment. Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures. Maintains office, lab area, reagents, supplies and equipment. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on lab equipment. Participate in lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques. Records results, organizes data, and maintains lab notebook in an organized manner. Conducts literary searches as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Wet lab experience as evidenced by application materials
  • KU Student must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester during the academic year. Enrollment of one (1) hour during the summer session is required if the student was not enrolled in the previous spring or is not pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall term.
